Meet Assistant Principal
Mr. Rashaud Brown
I am excited and honored to join you as the Assistant Principal at Flint Hill Elementary.
I am Mister Rashaud Brown, a passionate and dedicated educator with over 11 years of experience in elementary education. Originally from Georgetown, South Carolina, I now call Fort Mill home, where I have had the privilege of teaching and making a difference in the lives of young learners.
I earned my Bachelor's degree from Benedict College, followed by a Master’s in Education from Relay School of Education. My commitment to continuous learning led me to pursue graduate coursework in Educational Leadership at Lamar University. As an educator, I believe in creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning in my students.
Beyond the classroom, I am a devoted husband to my wife, TaLesha Brown, and a proud father to my two daughters, Rori (4) and Riley (3). My family is my greatest source of inspiration, and they fuel my passion for nurturing and guiding young minds.
I am thrilled to join the Flint Hill Elementary family, where I look forward to collaborating with an incredible team of educators and fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for all students. I will help every child recognize their potential and empower them to become confident, lifelong learners. My goal is to bring passion, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to student achievement and staff development. My leadership extends beyond policies and procedures—it's about inspiring a community of learners and dreamers to reach their full potential.
I look forward to working with each of you and learning from your expertise. My door is always open, and I welcome any conversations about how I can support you. Let’s make this a fantastic year for our students and our school!

Hello Cubs! I am so excited to begin this new journey alongside each of you. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you on a personal and professional level. I have lived in Fort Mill for my entire life. My husband, Matt, and I have been married for 18 years. We have two daughters. Campbell (14) is a freshman at Nation Ford High School where she plays on the varsity golf team. Sutton (12) is in 6th grade at Springfield Middle School. She loves all things music and theater. We also have a very sweet and cuddly Boxer named Boomer. We love to travel as a family. We especially love visiting National Parks. We have had the privilege of visiting 23 of the 63 major parks. Our goal is to see all 63 before Campbell graduates college. I love cooking, napping, binge watching tv shows, and all things true crime. My husband is from Pittsburgh, so we love any and all Pittsburgh sporting events.
This year marks my 19th in education, all of which have been in Fort Mill. I have 18 years of classroom experience in grades 3, 4, and 5. This year, I work as an academic interventionist serving students in grades 1-5. I have a passion for curriculum, student engagement, and building relationships. I believe that coming to school each day should not feel like work. School should be a place where everyone feels valued and supported, and where we push one another to be a better version of ourselves. I love to laugh and have fun. But, I also take pride in working hard to help students succeed. It is truly an honor to be joining the amazing administration team at FHES!
I am thrilled to be opening Flint Hill Elementary School! While the change of opening a new school can feel daunting, I truly believe this is an incredible opportunity to create something extraordinary. Together, we will build a legacy of excellence that defines Flint Hill Elementary School!

It is such a privilege to serve as the assistant principal for Flint Hill Elementary School. I am so excited to be able to assist in opening this school and build a school community of excellence that Fort Mill Schools are known for! This will be my ninth year working for Fort Mill School District. I have worked in several other districts throughout the Carolinas and I mean it wholeheartedly when I say that Fort Mill is a special place to be and an amazing place to work and serve the families in this community. It really is an amazing place like no other! This is my nineteenth year in education. Prior to my administrative role, I taught special education. I have taught grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. I have taught in both resource and special setting classrooms, working with students with varying strengths and needs. The vision and mission of FMSD is something that I try to uphold daily: I truly believe that all students deserve the right to a rigorous and engaging education. And I believe that all students can succeed. It is my belief that relationships are at the core of establishing a successful school community. I am so thrilled to build new relationships through this next chapter of my career and watch established ones continue to flourish.
I also want to share a little background information about myself. I graduated from the University of South Carolina at Aiken where I played soccer for four years on the women’s soccer team. While at the University of South Carolina at Aiken I earned a BA in Special Education. I also obtained my M.Ed. in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina in 2016.
When I am not at school or working I love spending time with my family. I have a wonderful husband of fifteen years, Lance. We have a twelve year old daughter, Charlie, who always keeps up busy with her extra curricular activities and makes things fun. I also have a three and a half year old son, Hank. Hank is all boy and keeps us on our toes daily! I love traveling and trying new things. I also love spending time with my family and friends. I think that it’s the people in your life that make it worth living and I have been blessed with some of the best family and friends around. We enjoy outdoor adventures, concerts, going to sporting events, and trying new foods. I am so honored for the opportunity to represent FHES and I look forward to serving our amazing students, families and staff.
